ASSISTANT COOK – McKinleyville Head Start
Duties include assisting in the preparation & organization of food, setting-up meals & snacks and kitchen cleanup for a preschool facility. Requires basic cooking skills. Prior experience in food handling and service desired. Part-time (school year): 22 hrs/wk (Mon-Thurs, 8:00 – 1:30 pm + occasional Fridays for trainings); $8.77-$9.21/hr.
COMBINATION PROGRAM AIDE – McKinleyville Head Start (Combo)
Assists teacher in the implementation and supervision of activities for preschool children in a combination program. Prefer 12 Early Childhood Education units or be currently enrolled in ECE classes until the completion of the 12 units, including the core courses. Requires a minimum of 6 months experience working with young children. Part-time (school year): 21 hrs/wk (Mon-Thurs, morning shift); $9.30-$9.77/hr.
HOUSEKEEPER – Jefferson Head Start (Eureka)
Perform duties required to keep sites clean, sanitized & orderly. Must have experience & knowledge of basic tools & methods utilized in custodial work and have the ability to learn and follow health & safety requirements. Part-time (school year): 4 hrs/wk (Mon-Thurs); $9.80/hr.

Intermittent work substituting for Classroom Assistants, Assistant Teachers, Cooks, Assistant Cooks or providing occasional child care for parent meetings. Requires experience working with children or cooking. Flexible weekdays & various hours (shifts are generally 4+ hours); $8.25 - $9.00/hr. No benefits. Del Norte County Openings:
SPECIAL AIDE – Small Avenue Head Start (Crescent City)
Provide support & supervision to one child following an individualized plan to accommodate the child’s special needs and/or behavior issues. Requires experience working with young children. 6-12 ECE units preferred. Part-time (school year): 17 hrs/wk (Mon-Thurs, 8:30-12:30 + 1 hour team meeting a week); $9.30-$9.77/hr.
